5UP MakersLED Dimmer Module

Description

The MakersLED 5UP Manual Dimmer Module is a low cost dimming solution for use with the MakersLED line of heat sink kits and the MakersDRIVER 5UP PRO.  Normally their heat sink kits have solid black plastic end-caps, which cover the area where the LEDs are located, but what they did with the design of this dimmer was incorporated potentiometer turn knobs into the end-caps for a seamless dimming solution.  The 5 turn knobs allow for fine tune dimming when used in conjunction with the MakersDRIVER 5UP PRO; each knob allows one to control the corresponding channel.  This dimmer module will also work in-conjunction with sunrise / sunset on the MakersCONTROLLER; just tune in the limits of each channel with the manual knobs.

Mounting & Connections

This dimming module mounts exactly like the normal end-caps that come standard with MakersLED Heat Sinks. There are holes in each of the four corners that line-up with the heat sink; this will hold the module in place. The printed circuit board (PCB) is mounted with two screws on the inside of the end-cap, which is where access is to the 10P ribbon cord and 0-10V analog signal. The most common and easiest connection from the module to the MakersDRIVER 5UP Pro is via the 10P ribbon cord. This cord has a female end that connects to the 10P male connector on the driver. If you would like to control the module with a 0-10V signal, then the analog terminal block needs to be used.
