My 6 inch lights failed probably because of an incorrect dimmer switch. The ceiling ids damaged and I need to replace them with 8 inch lamps. Can I use the 6 inch drivers with the 8 inch lamp? Was the driver damaged by the wrong dimmer or were the LEDs damaged?JOHN ON 08 Jun, 2024
Your answer has been submitted for consideration
BEST ANSWER: No, the 8 inch lights require a different amount of power so the drivers are not interchangeable. The wrong dimmer should not have damaged either component rather the light would just not light up or not dim. That being said, if one of the components is damaged it is most likely the driver. You must replace both components regardless.
