Description

RGB LED Strip SplitterLED Splitters make wiring LED strips easier when there are multiple runs of strips being powered from the same power supply. These splitters - both the single color option and RGB option - come in either a 1 to 2, 1 to 3 or 1 to 4 output option. This means that one power supply can power 2, 3 or 4 different runs of strips, without having to cut wires and connect the strips in parallel.

Single Color Splitter

The single color splitter is designed with a commonly used 2.1mm plug. This makes it easy to connect the output 2.1mm plug of a power supply to the 2.1mm plug of the connector. Then the outputs of the connectors have a 2.1mm plug that fits into the 2.1mm plugs on strips.

RGB Splitter

The RGB LED Strip Splitter requires a 4-pin connection type. This 4-pin (Included) connection is commonly seen on the output of RGB controllers and easily plugs into the input of this connector. And, the output of the connector - similar to the single color connector - offers either 2, 3 or 4 outputs.

4-Way RGB Splitter Example

Pictured here is an example of how to use these connectors. This example is showing a power supply being connected to a RGB controller and that controller is connected to an RGB 4-way splitter. Each of the outputs of the connector are going to a roll of RGB LED Strip.

I would like to wire four 3' strips into one cord to power lighting under a large outdoor umbrella. All four strips would come together neat the peak of the underside of the umbrella and the power cord would run down the pole to go to the nearby 120v outlet. Could you recommend the fittings I would need to accomplish this. Thanks, Neil Macneale

BEST ANSWER: You would need the 4 output splitter in addition to a 12V power supply. The required wattage of the power supply would depend on whether you are using the high density or standard density LED strip. The wattage for each given length of LED strip is listed in a chart on the LED strip product page (https://www.ledsupply.com/led-strips/waterproof-12v-led-strip). You can see all of the plug-in style power supplies available in this section (https://www.ledsupply.com/power-supplies)

What to use for RBG hardwire to house electric?
ON 10 Dec, 2020
Your answer has been submitted for consideration
BEST ANSWER: The short list is a hard wire 12V DC power supply (https://www.ledsupply.com/hard-wire-power-supplies) and an RGB controller/dimmer (https://www.ledsupply.com/led-dimmers). We carry many varieties of both components. The exact parts you need would depend on your specific application. You can always send specific questions to our sales team at sales@LEDSupply.com

can the strips be controlled separately? color on one, white on another or any combination?
ON 01 Jan, 2021
Your answer has been submitted for consideration
BEST ANSWER: The strips could be controlled separately if there is a different controller on each output of the splitter. So, power supply into the single input, White controller on one output, RGB controller on the other output.

Hi. I've got 12, 1-meter RGBCCT strips I want to use to light a bookcase. Can I use this splitter to power four RGBCCT controllers, and split the LED power runs between the four controllers? Do I need to wire them in series or parallel? Series would use less wire but I've been told the LED strips will get loess bright, closer to the end. I'm planning to use a 200W power supply for the whole thing (24V strips). Thanks.

BEST ANSWER: We would not recommend these splitters for your application as they are only rated for a maximum of 72 watts.

Is it possible to have 12 short RGB runs (less than 3 feet each) from the same power supply? Could something be configured combining 3 of the 4 output splitters?
ON 18 Mar, 2021
Your answer has been submitted for consideration
BEST ANSWER: Yes. You would use the RGB splitters between the RGB controller and the strips (the controller would be connected directly to one power supply). You can combine splitters for more connections (i.e three 4-way splitters connected to the output cords of one 3-Way splitter for 12 connections).
