Description

The Cree XLamp® MC-E LED is multi-chip high lumen output light module re-flowed to a 20mm metal core printed circuit board (MCPCB). The MC-E LED was designed and engineered to increase light output by reducing the distance between LED die.  By spacing the LEDs closer together the MC-E LED is able to create a small optical source resulting in superior optical control and improved color mixing. These improvements have helped to lower the cost of LED systems by reducing the number of components needed. The 20mm MCPCB mentioned previously is a standard hexagonal shape (LED Star), with four solder pads for easy wiring. The MCPCB is compatible with Carclo optics, electrically isolated and shaped so multiple LED stars can be packed closely together to increase light output per unit area.
